£59 for one property or one job: a written, plain-English review with likely cost ranges, plus a one-to-one call within 24 hours. Ben Murrell reads it himself.
People book this for:
- A RICS survey. What’s urgent, what can wait, what the repairs are likely to cost.
- A builder’s quote. What’s missing from it, what looks high or low, what to ask before signing.
- A house you’ve just viewed. The listing and your photos read by a builder, before you offer.
- Work you’re planning. Whether the plan and the budget actually meet, before you pay for drawings.
- A job that’s gone wrong. An independent opinion on workmanship, delays or a dispute.

“Like dealing with a trusted family member who is an expert in the building trade…”
“I am so grateful to Ben for peace of mind and clarity I have after using his amazing service ! I was baffled by my level 3 survey, buying a house on my own and money is tight. I honestly thought what he was offering was too good to be true! But I was proven wrong and he delivered. He is a pleasure to speak to and is friendly and professional it was like dealing with a trusted family member who is an expert in the building trade, priceless to feel reassured and confident . I have clarity on my survey and he went above and beyond. All of this happened within less than 24 hours of my enquiry and I received a very detailed report with an experienced but realistic perspective. I honestly can’t believe such a great service exists , a top guy and I highly recommend.”

“If like me, you are overwhelmed by a 90+ pages survey report and need a professional to help you make sense of it, Ben is your man! Quick, helpful and friendly.”
“Ben was really knowledgeable and a great help with answering our concerns following a RICS survey. This has enabled us to move forward with piece of mind and a fuller understanding of the property we are purchasing.”
“As a first time buyer who doesn’t know anything about building work, I found this service to be an absolute godsend. Ben translated a RICS 3 survey for an ex-buy-to-let into cost estimates and timeframes for the various issues. Once I had that info it was obvious that the house wasn’t for me, and having someone friendly and knowledgeable on my side took so much of the pressure off. Thanks Ben, I’ll be booking another survey review once I’ve found somewhere with (hopefully) fewer pitfalls!”
“We had an incredibly detailed survey report on a property we’re looking to purchase. Ben reviewed it for us and helped us break it down clearly and understand what the most important bits were. Ben’s service was super speedy, helpful, and friendly. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ben!”
“Fantastic service and will use again, provided comprehensive review and costs for problems identified on survey and informed discussions on potential problems arising once work starts. The service was invaluable. Ben was professional, so helpful and very knowledgeable”
“Ben has been absolutely fantastic. As a first time buyer getting a home buyers survey back feels like a bit of a mine field. Ben helps with approximating costs to all the points raised and also explained everything in really easy to understand terms. I feel much more confident about the property and entering negotiations with the seller. 100% worth it.”

Common questions
Who will read what I send?
Ben Murrell — a carpenter by trade and a builder for nearly 30 years, who started as an apprentice in the late 1990s. The person who reads it is the person who calls you.
What do I get for £59?
A written, plain-English review of whatever you send — a RICS survey, a builder’s quote, plans, a listing or photos: what matters, what can wait, likely cost ranges, and the questions to put to the seller, your surveyor, your builder or a specialist. Then a one-to-one call to talk it through. One property or one job, one fee, no upsell.
What sort of things do you look at?
RICS surveys are the most common — that is what most people book. We also read builders’ quotes line by line, look at houses people have just viewed before they offer, talk through work they are planning, and give an independent opinion on a job that has gone wrong.
When do I pay, and when do I send it over?
You pay £59 here, then the next screen gives you a WhatsApp and an email link with your reference already filled in, so what you send is matched to your booking. Not sure yours is the sort of thing we can help with? Ask us before you pay — that is free.
How quickly will I hear back?
Within 24 hours of receiving it, usually faster. If you’re up against an offer, an exchange or a deadline to sign, tell us when you book and we’ll prioritise it.
Do you visit the property?
No. We work from what you send — the survey or quote, plus any photos, video or listing. That keeps it fast, but it has limits: we can only comment on what those show. Where something needs a look in person — a structural engineer, an electrician’s test, a drain survey — we tell you so, and who to ask.
Is this a survey, a valuation or a quote?
None of those. It sits alongside your surveyor or your builder: we turn what is in front of you into priorities, likely cost ranges and sensible next steps. The decision stays yours — we make sure you take it with realistic numbers in front of you.
Is the advice really independent?
Yes. We never quote for the work we review and we take no referral fees from builders, so there’s nothing to upsell.
What if I’m not happy with the advice?
If the review doesn’t give you a clear answer, you get every penny back — no forms, no quibble.
